Sharon Soccer Association recreation program eligibility dates have recently been changed to mirror our Travel dates which are the dates South Shore Soccer League (SSSL) uses for player eligibility.
According to SSSL, players who are August date of births's (DOB's) are eligible to decide if they want to play-up with their grade. However once that decision is made, they will need to continue with their grade and not their DOB. If you are a parent and would like to have your player 'play-up', please register using the normal process in the sportslink system using the age group which that system allows. Then contact the SSA Registrar (Scott Chun at email@example.com) and explain that you would like your child to play in the next higher age bracket.
Your daughter was born August 15, 2006 and has been playing with her peers in the second grade. When you try to register her for U8, the system will only allow you to register for U7. You would like your child to continue to play with her U8 peers. The solution is to to go ahead and register for U7. Then contact Scott and explain your situation. Scott will move your daughter in our system to play in the U8 age bracket. You will not be allowed to change your decision in subsequent years and repeat an age bracket. Instead your child will continue to play in the age bracket above their own.
